Athletics

On the 25th of november (aka last friday) we had athletics, now it was almost the exact same as house day except we did more sporty things. People dressed up to represent there colour and each age group from each house raced to the end and some how I came 4th! out of 4 – Moving on there was multiple races and then tug of war happend, if you (some how) don’t understand what tug of war is its when 2 teams grab an end of a rope opposite of eachother and pull to see whos the strongest. Alothough kiahiku ended up winning maungarei was still a good sport (sort of) and with the day coming to an end we tided up the class and went home.

MOTAT trip

Yesterday we went to MOTAT. I will be sharing my favorite part of the trip. The first one is probably the phone booth/display, as soon as we were allowed to roam off and find things to do before the tram ride we we went there, it was full of old telephones and even a color code that you could type your name on, we spent almost the entire morning trying out the phones, calling eachother and typing our name in to the color code machine.

Kava bowl

In the middle block we had to move into other classrooms to do our task for samoan language week. When we were settled and ready to start working. Firstly we got a coconut and a knife, the knife was used to shave the coconut and to make a hole to drink the stuff inside. It  was sour and gross so I ended up tipping it out.

When we had finished shaving the coconut it was time to crack it open, I walked outside and over to Mr Raj and asked him to crack open the coconut with the hammer, once he had cracked it open I then had to wait for someone to finish scraping their coconut, Finally it was my turn to scrape the coconut, I went to scrape my first half then realized it had gone bad, when i tried to scrape the stuff out nicely it all came out at once, sadly that couldn’t be used for the dessert we will be making.

I continued to try and smoothen my coconut half so it could become a kava bowl but it is quite hard to do without sandpaper. Lastly we packed up all the scrapings off of the tables and floor and went to lunch.
